The Chambers Latin America 2027 rankings were published on 20 August 2026. Law Firm Solutions is delighted to share 91% of the firms we supported through the submissions process achieved at least one new or improved ranking – with several firms securing four or five improvements in a single cycle.
About Chambers Latin America
Chambers Latin America is one of the most respected and closely watched legal directories in the region. Published annually by Chambers and Partners, the 2027 edition covers all Spanish-speaking jurisdictions across Latin America, including Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and all Spanish-speaking South American countries. In total, the guide encompasses 19 jurisdictions from the major financial centres of Mexico City, Bogotá and Santiago to emerging markets across the Caribbean and Central America.
The guide is used extensively by international law firms, institutional investors, multinational corporations and financial institutions when identifying and selecting local legal counsel across the region. A Chambers Latin America ranking, for a firm or an individual lawyer, carries genuine commercial weight in a market where independent verification of legal quality is highly valued by cross-border clients who cannot rely on local word-of-mouth alone.
The 2027 edition of Chambers Latin America features 806 ranked firms, 2,268 departmental rankings and 4,988 individual lawyers making it one of the most comprehensive and competitive regional directories published anywhere in the world.
Our Results: A 91% Success Rate
Law Firm Solutions works with a select group of independent law firms across Latin America, supporting them with every aspect of the Chambers Latin America submissions process, from developing a targeted ranking strategy and drafting work highlights, to managing the referee programme and liaising with Chambers researchers.
This year’s results reflect what is possible when the submissions process is approached with care, rigour and genuine knowledge of what the directories are looking for.
Results at a glance
- Several firms achieved four or five ranking improvements in a single cycle across practice areas and individual lawyers.
- The overall success rate across our Latin America client base was 91%.
- Rankings were achieved across a range of jurisdictions and practice areas within the guide.
These results do not happen by accident. Behind each ranking improvement is a detailed, months-long process: understanding the firm’s practice and competitive position in its market; identifying the right strategy for each department and individual; selecting and presenting the strongest possible work highlights; briefing referees carefully; and ensuring the submission speaks the language that Chambers researchers are looking for.
We are enormously proud of every firm we worked with on this cycle. These results belong to them.
Why Chambers Latin America Rankings Matter
For independent law firms operating in Latin America, whether as local practices, regional firms or the Latin American offices of international networks, a Chambers ranking is not simply a marketing credential. It is an active driver of business development.
New instructions from international clients
International law firms, investment banks and institutional investors operating across Latin America rely heavily on Chambers Latin America when selecting local counsel for cross-border transactions, regulatory matters and disputes. A firm that is ranked, ranked accurately, and ranked with strong editorial commentary is far more likely to appear on a shortlist than one that is absent from the guide or ranked below its true standing in the market.
Credibility with domestic clients
Chambers’ research process – which involves independent researcher interviews with clients, peers and opposing counsel – gives its rankings a credibility that self-reported marketing materials cannot replicate. For domestic clients evaluating law firms in a competitive landscape, a Chambers ranking provides independent validation of the quality of advice they can expect.
Individual recognition for partners and associates
Individual rankings for partners and senior associates in Chambers Latin America carry real weight in both internal and external contexts. They support partners’ business development efforts, strengthen lateral hire propositions, and give rising associates a recognised credential that accelerates their market profile. Several of our clients achieved individual rankings for lawyers who had not previously been recognised by the directory – a result that can meaningfully change the trajectory of a practitioner’s career.
How LFS Supported Our Latin America Clients
The Chambers Latin America submissions process is demanding. Deadlines are firm, the research process is rigorous, and the competition for rankings in key jurisdictions is intense. Law Firm Solutions managed the full submissions cycle for our Latin America clients, including:
- Developing a targeted rankings strategy for each firm, identifying which practice areas and individuals to prioritise and in which jurisdictions
- Drafting and refining practice area submissions and individual lawyer entries, tailored to Chambers Latin America’s specific research criteria
- Selecting and presenting work highlights that demonstrate the complexity, significance and cross-border reach of each firm’s practice
- Coordinating the referee programme – identifying the strongest contacts, briefing them effectively, and managing response rates throughout the research window
- Liaising directly with Chambers researchers on behalf of client firms
- Advising on the feedback sections of submissions, including assessment of competitive positioning and recommendations for band improvements
For firms that achieved four or five ranking improvements in a single cycle, this breadth of outcome reflects a coordinated strategy across multiple practice areas and individuals, not simply a strong submission in one area.
Looking Ahead: The Next Chambers Latin America Cycle
The Chambers Latin America 2028 submission cycle will open in the coming months. For firms that achieved strong results this year, the focus now shifts to maintaining and building on those rankings. For firms whose results were disappointing, or who did not submit, now is the time to understand why and to put a plan in place.
The gap between a submission that secures a ranking and one that falls short is rarely a gap in the quality of a firm’s legal work. It is almost always a gap in how that work is identified, evidenced and presented to the directory. That is precisely the gap Law Firm Solutions exists to close.
